Euro Business IBAN Account for SEPA and SWIFT

A business IBAN account gives your company its own payment address in the euro area. Suppliers, customers and partners pay you the way they already pay everyone else — by bank transfer to an account number in a familiar format — and the money lands on a balance you control from the dashboard or through the API.

What the account covers

  • Euro payments across the European Economic Area, sent and received under your company name
  • Worldwide transfers over SWIFT when the counterparty is outside the euro area
  • GBP rails for United Kingdom counterparties, including Faster Payments and CHAPS
  • Instant internal transfers between SharPay accounts, including accounts of your own group

What it costs

Opening a business account is 1,000 EUR. Internal payments are 10 EUR. Incoming and outgoing SEPA transfers are 10 EUR plus 0.30%. An incoming SWIFT transfer in euro is 50 EUR plus 0.35%. Faster Payments and CHAPS in pounds are 15 GBP. Closing an account or reactivating it is 100 EUR each. The full list is on our price page, and the numbers there are the ones we invoice.

What a Virtual IBAN Is and How It Differs from a Regular One

A regular IBAN belongs to one account and holds the balance itself. A virtual IBAN is a number issued on top of that account: money sent to it is routed to the same balance, but the transfer keeps the record of which number received it. Both are available to business clients here, and which one fits depends on how your company gets paid.

The practical difference

  • A regular IBAN answers the question whose account this is. A virtual IBAN answers which of your payers sent the money
  • Funds always settle on the master account — a virtual number is an address, not a separate pot of money
  • One legal entity can stand behind several virtual numbers, so you do not register a company per revenue stream
  • Payers see an ordinary account number and pay through their ordinary banking app

That is the whole of the virtual IBAN versus IBAN comparison that matters in practice. Everything else — the format of the number, the networks it works over, the compliance checks behind it — is identical, because a virtual IBAN runs on the same regulated infrastructure as the account underneath it. The long version is in our guide on what a virtual IBAN is and how you get one.

Virtual IBAN for Business with SharPay

We issue virtual IBANs to business clients. A virtual IBAN account for business is set up on top of your company account, so incoming euro arrives already marked with the number it was sent to, and your team is not matching payments to invoices by hand.

Where companies use it

  • Marketplaces and platforms that collect money for many sellers and settle to each of them
  • SaaS and subscription products where a large number of payers send similar amounts on similar dates
  • Agencies and holdings that keep client money separate in reporting without separate legal entities
  • Groups with several brands that want one treasury and per-brand reporting

Cards belong to the same structure: business cards, virtual and physical, are issued against the company account rather than through a separate provider. How the account is arranged depends on how your business collects money, so the structure is agreed at onboarding — it is set up once, and changing it later means asking payers to update details they have already saved.

How to Open a Business IBAN Account

We work with companies registered in Europe. Applications from companies registered in the United States and the United Kingdom are not accepted. The current list of supported countries is on the How it works page, and it is the version to rely on.

What we ask for

  • Incorporation documents of the company and proof of its registration
  • Licences for the activity, where the activity requires one
  • Identification of the owners and of the people who will manage the account
  • Whatever else the compliance team needs to confirm the business operates legally

Documents are requested in every case, and verification is part of every application — there is no route around either. How long the review takes depends on the package you send and on the type of business, so we do not publish a number of days we could not hold to. What we can say is what slows applications down most often: incomplete corporate documents and licences that have expired.

Crypto-Friendly Business IBAN

A crypto business account normally means two providers: a bank that dislikes the word crypto, and an exchange that cannot give you a company account number. On SharPay both sit in one place — the euro balance, the cards and the crypto wallet belong to the same business account.

What that allows

  • Receive euro by SEPA, convert to crypto, and send it out without moving funds to a third service
  • Accept crypto from counterparties who prefer it, and hold the proceeds against the same balance
  • Keep one set of statements for the auditors instead of reconciling a bank export against an exchange export
  • Issue virtual and physical cards on the same account for team spending

Crypto activity is subject to the same checks as everything else: the origin of funds is reviewed, and unlicensed operators are declined at underwriting.

European Business IBAN Account

For a company incorporated in the European Union, a European business IBAN account is not an upgrade — it is the baseline that partners, acquirers and marketplaces expect before they will work with you. An account in the euro area also removes the currency conversion that eats into every payment routed through a non-euro bank.

Who this fits

  • Companies registered in the EU, including holdings incorporated in Cyprus and similar jurisdictions
  • Businesses whose customers pay in euro and whose suppliers invoice in euro
  • Companies that need euro settlement alongside card acquiring or payouts under the same provider

If you also collect payments from customers by card, the merchant account runs on the same infrastructure and the same onboarding, so you go through the document review once rather than twice.
